CANTON, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – SARTA returns to the November ballot across Stark County, seeking to renew the quarter-percent sales tax for ten years.
There’s no increase associated with the tax renewal.
Back in May, voters turned “thumbs down” on a proposal to raise the sales tax percentage slightly, so Issue 9 on the ballot is just a renewal.
SARTA leadership says the tax provides 50% of their operational revenue.
Early In-Person Voting continues at the Stark County Board of Elections office between 8 and 5, Monday through Friday.
Here’s a sit down interview with SARTA leadership and Citizens for SARTA.
